Teaching through games your dog loves to build a better connection and understanding

At Sound Hound Dog Training and Behaviour we are dedicated to supporting you and your dog on your training journey. Whether this is teaching skills for an all-round well-balanced dog or helping you to understand their psychology better - thus being able to support them to improve behaviour holistically.
We bring knowledge and experience to the table through our Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Applied Animal Behaviour (Canine) where we achieved a 'Distinction'; alongside our previous work in rescue and veterinary. We are currently working towards our Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Applied Animal Behaviour.
We are passionate about building skills through reward and games based training, homing in on breed specific skills especially for spaniels and gun dogs; though we also help other dogs of varying breeds, ages and backgrounds!
Training is taken at your dog's pace to create a fun environment for learning; working with what they find rewarding to progress and achieve your training goals.
We are also here to help and support you as your dog's caregiver, creating a safe space free of judgement to allow you to ask questions, and to understand your dog, how they learn and how to teach them new skills - we believe this is important when supporting you with your training & behaviour struggles.
Though we welcome all, our specialisms include:
Supporting new rescue dogs
Confidence building & support for nervous or anxious dogs
Spaniel training, spaniel crosses and gun dogs
Providing high standard puppy classes and 1-1 training
About Sound Hound Dog Training and Behaviour...
Hi there, my name is Zoe.
I have been around dogs since a young child, growing up with my black Labrador Olly. I have previously worked in boarding kennels, rescue kennels and in veterinary, which has provided me with a wealth of experience with different breeds, ages and behaviours in different settings.
I adopted Ozzie my working Cocker Spaniel in March 2016 as a very nervous boy. He has taught me a huge amount and sparked my passion for building confidence through games and breed specific skills.
I have also shadowed several different dog trainers and behaviourists over a two-year period prior to setting up Sound Hound Dog Training and Behaviour in 2022. This all allowed me to continue learning and gaining further experience.
I'm also very passionate about ongoing learning to bring you modern, reward based training methods. As such I attend webinars and training events, of which you can see below.
I hold a Level 6 BSc in Applied Animal Management and a Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Applied Animal Behaviour (Canine) which allowed me to become an Associate Animal Behaviour Technician Member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors. I'm currently following this up with a Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Applied Animal Behaviour with the aim of becoming a Clinical Animal Behaviourist.. I am fully insured.

Meet Zoe's dogs
Ozzie
Ozzie is a 14 year old working Cocker Spaniel who found himself in rescue at 4 years old. He came live with me and my family where it became apparent that his past experiences had left their mark. We've tackled these together though and he is now a very happy chap! Though he has his quirks and is a sensitive soul, he is supported by those who understand him the most.
