Life Skills Training

It can be incredibly challenging taking the skills you've been learning in a class room environment or in the house/garden to apply them outside on your walks! There are so many more distractions and it can be really difficult to know how to keep those skills! In these sessions, we look at training 'out and about', how to bridge the gap in increasing distractions!

Life Skills Class

• A Course of 5 x 1-hour sessions - Working on skills out and about in the environment where you need them!​

  • 2 weeks working on foundations in a quiet environment out and about. ​

  • 3 weeks working in busier environments out and about. 

​

• Catered for all ages, perfect for: ​​

  • Puppy graduates,​

  • New rescues, 

  • Anyone wishing to brush up on skills.

​

• A maximum of 4 dogs in a group to allow for plenty of 1-1 time with each dog and owner. This allows for slightly tailored teaching to the needs of each dog. 

• Socialisation time where appropriate to allow dogs to mix constructively & I can talk you through interactions.

Life Skills 1-1 Sessions

• Completely bespoke training to your dog, working on the skills you need, in the environment that you need it. 

• WhatsApp support between sessions for any questions you may have.

• Bespoke handouts sent to you after your sessions.

1.5 hour session £90 (this is sometimes more preferrable to go through your training goals, behaviours you are seeing and initial training)

• Identify the key areas you would like support with such as lead walking, confidence building, recall or focus and engagement. 

• Develop a clear, tailored plan to help you to achieve your goals. 

• Answer any immediate questions and provide you with tips you can get started on implementing straight away!

Deluxe Life Skills Course

• A mixture of 1-1 sessions and class sessions for extra support, 

• 3 x 1-hour 1-1 sessions, which can be held at any time, 

• 5 x 1-hour in class sessions.

8 x 1-hour sessions - £243 (worth £270, 10% discount applied to the 1-1 sessions when booked as a package).

Skills covered

• Teaching and proofing behaviours such as: 

  • Loose lead walking with distractions in real life settings

  • Recall with distractions - starting off in low distraction environments and then going into more distracting places.

  • Settle training in different places 

  • Social skills and etiquette

  • Games & tricks to learn with your dog that you can incorporate on your walk and in everyday life to build engagement & self-control, but most importantly build relationship and have fun with your dog!  

    • Eye contact ​

    • Owner check-ins. 

    • Permission cues & release cues. 

• And lots more, including anything you wish to discuss and any questions you may have!
